NEW UMPIRING PROGRAMME

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL VIC PLAYERS

MANDATORY ONLINE COURSE FOR ALL VIC PLAYERS FROM 1ST JAN 2023.  TAKE THE TEST NOW SO YOU QUALIFY TO PLAY

The VPA is pleased to announce we have invested in an exciting new learning platform.

This E-platform has some very exciting capabilities which we will roll out in due course. Initially when you access the platform you will have access to many videos and learning content from Fergus Gould and also the VPA Umpire Test.

As we progress through the polo season different levels of umpiring tests will become available so that you can progress through the ranks to increase your umpiring grade.

The platform also has many other exciting functions such as live scoring we will look at introducing.

After a VPA Board meeting it was agreed that in order to lift the quality of umpiring as well as educate players on the rules of the game, it will be mandatory for all players in 2023 to pass the online umpiring test.  This is not simply for umpires, it is for all players in VIC to familarise themselves with the rules of the game and improve the quality of play. 

You can take this test any time after renewing your playing membership however it will be mandatory by Jan 1st 2023, that if you want to take the field, you will need to have passed. 

This programme is being rolled out in NSW and WA currently with the other states to follow shortly. This test will now replace the Rules Test.

HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE TEST?

You will need to access the program with the email address that you have used as your VPA registration. If your membership has been processed by someone else you will need to ensure that they fill in your details and email correctly.
To access the platform, please use the following steps:

1. Visit www.vicpolo.com.au

2. Locate the new shiny red LOGIN button

3. Fill out the form with your e-mail to register. This must the be the email address you registered with when taking out your membership.

You will be sent an e-mail to authenticate your account. Please click the activation link to verify your e-mail and you will be redirected to the e-learning platform. If you cannot see the verification email please check in your junk/spam folder.

From there you will be able to register for the umpire training online courses and view the interactive learning material.

To access the umpire test, head to E-learning and then select "Victoria Umpire Test". There is no limit to the number of times you can take the umpire test, this is a learnng exercise to improve your knowledge of the rules and not designed to trick or confuse players. You can look back through the test upon completion and look at the answers you may have got incorrect to learn the new answer. On completion of the test you will get a beautiful certficate of completion.
