OFF THE TRACK
The Victorian Polo Association is pleased to confirm the continuation of our valued partnership with Off The Track (OTT).
This season, we are introducing an exciting new prize structure:
• An OTT award will be determined in each grade every week.
Each winning OTT pony will be recorded in a live spreadsheet on the VPA website, where points will accumulate throughout the season.
• At the Urquhart Cup, points will be tallied and the highest-scoring OTT pony in each grade will be crowned the OTT Best Playing Pony Champion, receiving an engraved halter in recognition of their outstanding performance.
In the event of a tie, umpires will be consulted to determine the winner.
All tournaments throughout the season are included.
To ensure umpires can correctly identify OTT ponies on finals day, riders must indicate their horse by using pink/red tail tape. Until you are able to source tape, you may inform the umpire directly.
Rugs will only be awarded at the following 2026 season events:
-
Melbourne Cup 2025: 10 Goal, 6 Goal, and 2 Goal
-
Victorian Polo Association Ladies Championships: A Grade and B Grade
-
Ballarat Cup: A Grade, B Grade, Celebrity Chukka, and Exhibition Match
-
Urquhart Cup, Merang Cup, Palmer Cup, and D Grade
The two special Off the Track events for the 2026 season will be the Ballarat Cup and the Urquhart Cup. At both of these events:
A meet the ponies parade and Exhibition match will take place with OTT horses. We appreciate the asistance of our members to facilitate these.
