Victorian Polo Association Championships

Welcome to the Victorian Polo Association Championships 2020. This weekend of polo is hosted by the team at Mingela Polo Club with games at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre Fields. This tournament will take place on the 25th and 26th January. NO GAMES ON FRIDAY.
We will be running a 0-2 goal grade, a 4 goal grade and 8-10 goal. 8-10 goal will be 5 chukkas and the other grades 4 chukkas. Chukka fees are $35 a chukka excluding the processing and transaction fee. The 0- 2 goal could be split (ie 0 goal and 2 goal games) depending on the number of entries.
Teams in the 8-10 goal will be competing for the Creswick Cup. The runners up will recieve the Stradbroke Cup. There is also a Champion pony trophy in the 8-10 goal "The Knox Memorial Trophy". This year we will delay awarding the Victoria Cup for the best team until the Urquhart Cup.
Thanks to the kind sponsorship from Off The Track we will be presenting OTT Best playing prizes accross the grades. To be eligable you must have registered your OTT with the VPA and be wearing a disc awarded by Peter Evans. We will endavour to have a microchip scanner available to help with identification over the weekend.
In addition we have prizes for the winners of every grade. We will also be awarding a grooms prize for the best turned out string of horses over the two days.
We will have Dianne Heppell in the Club house all three days catering for all your food and beverage requirements, so bring the family and make a day of it.
On both days we can run junior polo. Junior games will be one or two chukkas. There are no chukka fees for junior games but you must hold a VPA membership. Junior memberships for one year start at $143, contact secretary@vicpolo.com.au
Nominations close at 4pm on the Wednesday the 22nd to prepare the draw for fridays games.. Only nominations through this portal by financial members of a polo club in Australia will be accepted. Nominate using this link VPA CHAMPS
