Return to Polo
11 Nov 2020
Dear All
Following our directors meeting last night, we are very pleased to announce that after the latest easing of restrictions, COVID safe polo can now resume in all clubs across Victoria. Therefore, tournament polo will recommence on the 21st/22nd November at Eynesbury and the calendar will be followed from that weekend onwards. Under the current government guidelines we must only play non-contact polo and maintain a strict distance of 1.5m from each other. The VPA has appointed Greg Keyte, Ruki Baillieu and Amber Drum to create a set of rules and guidelines on how non contact polo will be played. We will distribute these to all members as soon as possible. Also, chukkas begin at Melbourne City Polo Club on the 18th November.
Each club has appointed a COVID Officer working together with the VPA COVID Officer Geoff Sinclair. Each club is required to have a COVID-19 Safety plan and must encourage full compliance with all elements of the plan. It will be very much a case of turn up, play polo and leave until restrictions are eased further. We understand this has been a challenging time for clubs and we thank you for adapting to the new COVID compliance rules so quickly and efficiently.
Members of the Board will be out watching the games as much as possible. If there are issues that need to be brought to our attention or you have any queries regarding the above, please contact the Secretary.
Please ensure you purchase your 2020/21 membership before nominating for a tournament. Nominations will as last year be through the portal so keep an eye on the VPA website for further information

We look forward to further easing of restrictions to enable us to play contact polo as soon as it is permitted.
Kind Regards
Peter Evans
